Arthritis is a general term used when there is inflammation within joints. Osteoarthritis, specifically, cause a breakdown of joint cartilage. It is the form of arthritis and can occur in any joint. The joints most affected include the knees, hips, and spine. However, it can also create damage to the neck, finger, and thumbs. It usually occurs when a joint experiences excessive stress or previous injury.
Osteoarthritis is often a slow developing disease that can be hard to diagnose until it starts to cause pain or debilitating symptoms. Test to confirm a diagnosis in addition to x-rays, your doctors may use an MRI scan to diagnose osteoarthritis.
The imaging test uses radio waves and a magnetic field to create the image of bone and soft tissue and has the highest diagnostic capability. Other diagnostic tests include a blood test to rule out other conditions that cause joint pain such as infection. Joint fluid analysis can also be used to determine whether gout or infection is the underlying cause of inflammation.
Osteoarthritis treatment is centered upon symptom management. The type of treatment depends on the severity of your symptoms and their location. Often lifetime changes, over -the -counter (OTC)medication , home remedies will be enough to private you with relief from pain, stiffness and swelling.

✔ Heat and Cold treatment for the joints.
✔Physical activity strengthens the muscle around your joints and helps to relieve stiffness. Aim for at least 20-30 mins of physical exercise every day. Choose gentle, low- impact activities such as walking or swimming.
✔Stretching exercise and yoga can also improve joint flexibility and help with pain management.
✔Being overweight can put a strain on your joints and cause pain. Weight management can relieve a lower risk of other health problems such as diabetes and heart disease.
✔Getting adequate sleep and rest is very important. Resting your muscles can reduce swelling and inflammation. Getting enough sleep at night can also help you to manage pain more effectively.
✔A cold or hot compress to sore joints for 15-20 mins several times a day.
Unlike the knee, the hip is a single "ball and socket" joint. so if you just replace the ball or just replace the socket you leave the disease on the other side so it won't work. If the first treatment of medications and exercise may be injection therapy doesn't work. Then the treatment is complete or total hip replacement.
It can be very helpful for people with osteoarthritis especially if you have knees, hips , back. it can increase mobility and range of motion in joints.
